Concept
Perhaps ambitious, but over time we hope to tell the complete energy story to expose the total environmental, investment and operational cost of the range of available alternative energy sources addressing their access, conversion, storage, distribution and consumer impacts.
The aim is to provide a fair and equivalent comparison of the fundamental "whole-of-life" cost and environmental impact of the available alternatives using, wherever possible, equivalent measures of cost such as for example "carbon footprint".
We plan to examine
Conventional Generation and Distribution, Household or Local Solar, Shared Solar, Local Wind Generation, Wind Farming, Geothermal, Tidal/wave,Tri-generation and new developments as they emerge. Each will be researched and modelled considering issues such as; source energy flow and conversion, storage, adaptation and distribution processes.
